'Sunshine at Portsoy', watercolour, 39 x 27 cm.
This was the first painting I did of Portsoy harbour, and it was a long time coming! I did the sketching in 2014 but didn't get round to doing the painting until 2016! I'm glad I did it, though, as Portsoy has proved a very popular subject! Here, we're looking at the distant New Harbour from the Old Harbour, which is one of the oldest harbours on the Moray coast. I love the stonework in the harbour walls - the stones fit together so well it's like the Mayan stonework of South America!
