'The Cottage at Whitehills', watercolour, 74 x 50 cm.
This was a fascinating commission! It is basically a house portrait of the house on the right, but a view of the harbour was also wanted, even though you can't see the harbour from here. To achieve that view, I removed the house on the far side of the road and lifted us up slightly to see the harbour over the houses. I think it's created the feeling of Whitehills despite the changes, and it serves as a great example of what can be done in a painting by changing things around! I love the finished painting and I hope you do too.
The original painting was sold by commission.
