Looking back on Daisy Rock, the rocky headland to the east of Hopeman on the Moray Firth coast of northeast Scotland, from the basalt plinth that stands next to it. The rock has been a playground, as well as a diving board, for many people, and two children are edging their way along it in the painting. Two adults sit on the bench at left looking back towards Hopeman Harbour at left. Also visible, beyond them is Sheepies (or Sheppies) Loch, the local term for the water retained by the beach rock formation when the tide goes out on East Beach. Here, it's water-filled and we can just see a couple of people having fun within it. At top right, in the distance, we see the mountains of Sutherand across the Firth, and the entrance to the Cromarty Firth at Nigg -popularly known in these parts as 'The Suitors.'
