A Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF) P8 anti-submarine aircraft and F35 fighter aircraft break in front of Stetind, the Norwegian National Mountain in the north of Norway. This scene takes place just south of the aircraft's base at Evenes which is home to 333 Squadron operating the P8 and is Norway's main Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) base. The F35 took over the Norwegian QRA from the F16 in 2022 and the aircraft is shown in QRA fit with ASRAAM missiles fitted underwing. The Norwegian F35s are also unique in being fitted with a landing parachute pod between the tail fins for braking aircraft on Norway's frequently icy runways. The P8 aircraft, named 'Viking' is shown fitted with the new Joint Strike Missiles which are carried here on under wing pylons. It was the first of the P8s delivered to the RNoAF. Together, these two aircraft symbolise the power of the air component at Evenes. Below, in the Fjord is a Ula class submarine.
