'Bosta Beach to Ourselves!', watercolour, 54 x 35 cm.
Bosta (spelled a little differently in the Gaelic) is on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis in Scotland's Outer Hebrides. I've not been there, sadly (this painting was completed from the client's photos), but in a previous life as a military pilot I have flown over it many times. The water really does look tropical and the white sand is beautifully bright, as it is on the nearby Isle of Skye. We'd planned to get out to Lewis for a sketching trip this year but... Hopefully next year and some parts of Lewis will become part of our prints range!
The original painting was sold by commission.
