'Pride of Moray Comes Home', watercolour, 53 x 35 cm.
The RAF's first P-8A, or Poseidon aircraft, arrives at its new home in the north of Scotland, flanked and escorted by Typhoons of 2(AC) Squadron from RAF Lossiemouth. Here, the Pride of Moray flies straight down runway 25 at Kinloss Barracks as the Typhoon escorts break away. The village of Findhorn is visible below and beyond by the banks of Findhorn Bay.
In fact Kinloss is just a temporary home for the Pride of Moray; it will be permanently based out of RAF Lossiemouth, just about 8 miles to the East, but that airfield is currently having its runway resurfaced. For now she will operate from Kinloss, the old home of the Nimrod, the aircraft she replaces after a 10-year gap.
As this painting was painted over our 30th Anniversary of meeting, Sharon and I have decided to offer a 10% NHS and military discount on most of these prints to reflect our shared backgrounds! 10 of the prints were signed by the members of the Pride of Moray crew to commemorate the aircraft's arrival in the UK. These are now sold out - sorry!
The original painting is sold.
A limited edition run of 120 prints is available, with an image size of 37 x 25 cm.
The prints are £32 Unmounted, £39 mounted ready to fit a 20 x 16" frame.
For these prints only a 10% NHS or military discount will apply (so £29 unmounted and £35 mounted)
