'Seatown and East Beach from Prospect Terrace', watercolour, 73 x 53 cm.
This is a big view, as anyone who's admired it from Prospect Terrace in Lossiemouth will readily appreciate! We're looking East across the River Lossie to East Beach, reached by both the old and new bridges ( a situation which lasted only a week or so before the top of the old wooden bridge was removed). To the right is Seatown, with the old fisherman's cottages arranged mostly, by tradition, at right-angles to the shore. The Spynie Canal, built by Thomas Telford in about 1810, connects with the river at right. In the foreground is Lossiemouth's lovely new promenade, which we think has been very tastefully done and really enhances this already beautiful village on the Moray Firth coast of northern Scotland. We love this view and were very pleased to be commissioned to paint it again - this time looking a little further right to include Seatown. We hope you enjoy the view in this print too!
The original painting was sold by commission, with an arrangement that prints are also available:
