'Portknockie Harbour View', watercolour, 52 x 35 cm.
Portknockie is a very attractive little harbour on the Moray Firth. The village is at the top of the cliffs and the harbour is reached by a long, steep, curving road around its edge. This is a view from about two thirds of the way up the road, looking west along the coastline. Findochty (or Finechty, depending on how you pronounce it!) is round the corner in the distance, which may well feature in my work in the near future! I enjoyed another opportunity to do 'water three ways' as the choppy sea and breakers in the open sea gradually give way in stages to the calm water of the inner harbour.
The original is sold.
