'The Mormond Hill Stag' watercolour, 39 x 27 cm.
This quartz carving is on a hill near Fraserburgh on the Moray Firth coast of northern Scotland. I am told it is one of only four in Scotland! Carvings like this in England are usually made on chalk hillsides - this is of a different and more recent construction, completed in the 18th Century.
The original painting is sold by commission.
