'Crovie Shoreline', watercolour, 54 x 34 cm.
This gorgeous little fishing village is little more than a line of fisherman's cottages crowded along the seashore below big hills and cliffs. The name is actually pronounced 'Crivvy' by the locals, and together with Gardenstown this village makes up the area known locally as Gamrie. The road down to the village is long, and you must park halfway up the hill and do the rest of the journey on foot if you visit. It's worth it, though: the village is beautiful, and the rocky shoreline provides lots of interest too.
The original painting is sold.
