'Falcon Heavy First Flight', watercolour, 51 x 35 cm.
SpaceX's Falcon Heavy lifts off from the famous Pad 39A at Kennedy Space Centre. Capable of lifting 68 tonnes to orbit, this is currently the most powerful launch vehicle in the world and, if you've not see it, the launch is really worth watching on youtube. Here, we're only a few seconds into flight. The vehicle support arm is almost fully retracted, the pad coolant sprayers are all spraying water onto the concrete and metal and most of the exhaust gasses are being directed through the blast tunnel at lower right.
The painting is sold by commission.
