'The East Gate, Lincoln Castle', watercolour, 52 x 34 cm.
Lincoln Castle, built in the late 11th Century, is one of the best-preserved Norman castles in England. Here we are looking towards the East Gate, with the cathedral behind us. The building to the right is the Judges' Lodgings. The flag of St George flutters everywhere, giving the castle a medieval feel!
