'Macduff Harbour View', watercolour, 54 x 34 cm.
Macduff is a fishing port on the Moray Firth Aberdeenshire coast, just east of Banff. Here we're looking down on the harbour, and locals will know that this is the view from Church Street, just a little below the Macduff Parish Church which stands on the hill, looking down on the broad sweep of the sea front. The harbour area in the distance as it turns the corner is known as the Princess Royal Basin. Some yachts are sailing offshore; in the real world, on the day I did the sketching for this painting, a large tanker was anchored just beyond them!
The original painting is sold.
