'Texans over the Menai Strait', watercolour, 74 x 50 cm.
A pair of the Royal Air Force's Texan Basic Fast Jet Trainer aircraft fly in loose formation over the Menai Strait in north Wales. The famous Menai Strait road bridge is seen at lower left and the Snowdonia mountain range forms the backdrop to the painting. The Beech Texan replaced the RAF's Tucanos recently and operate out of RAF Valley on Anglesey, training RAF fighter pilots of the future. After completion of their Basic Fast Jet Training with 72 (F) Squadron the trainee pilots gain their pilot's wings and pass on to the next stage of their training on the Hawk jet.
The original painting is sold by commission.
