Well, quite a lot has been happening behind the scenes here! I'm thrilled to announce that a local gallery has accepted some of my pictures for exhibition there and I have entered into arrangements with an art printer and publisher to produce limited edition prints of some eleven of my paintings! It's early days yet, of course, so I'm not yet sure how many limited editions will be produced. I'm really looking forward to seeing the proofs! Hopefully this will be a new dimension to my work but I will also keep producing original work and showing it here, available to purchase. I'll give more details soon once I have a better idea of the details. Well, its back to work for me. Another commissioned work has left the studio today, so I think I'll treat myself to a project of my own choosing. Now where are those sketchbooks...!
See you soon, Rob.

Time for a quick update. I've made some changes to my site to improve its navigation and appearance. Most important is the inclusion of a new tab, called 'Featured Work', which I've added to showcase my most recent paintings. I'm really pleased with the latest, which is of Lossiemouth Harbour on a really still, sunny day. I've got more sketches of this harbour, and a few others, which I'm looking forward to working up into finished paintings. I just love doing water. In this one, it took me 5 hours of work to get to painting in the reflection of the harbour walls - the last bit. I always have to have a word with myself at points like that, because you know that if you mess it up a whole day's work will be spoiled! This one came out pretty well. See what you think.
I've not been painting as much as I like, just lately, because of all the other work around starting the business up. Hopefully now I've got most of that behind me now and more images will start to appear soon. Hope you like the site - if you'd like to buy any of my work, please do contact me! Cheers for now, Rob. Well, as of this evening, I'm online with my own website! The last few days have been pretty hectic, getting Facebook, Google+ and Twitter sites up and running, and then finally getting my own site operational today! I'm hosted by Nethosted, a UK company who have been terrific so far - great speeds, and an even faster helpdesk! Unfortunately it's a Company that assumes you have an IQ in 3 figures and knows a bit about website creation... Luckily, Weebly was on hand. Yes, I've spelled it right. If you're looking to build a website I really recommend it if you want your hand held!
OK, so now I hope to get back to doing a bit of art over the next week or so. It's just getting round to Autumn and that's a great time for any artist. I can't wait! |
