I'm going to have to create a new gallery called something like 'The Nostalgia Archives' or something similar! Following on from 'Childhood Remembered', this is another painting from my childhood's stamping ground. This time, though, it's painted from life on a recent visit, so the scene is fairly accurate (probably only those who know the area would spot the slight change I've made to make the composition work!). This is only a little painting but I so enjoyed painting it in this loose style. Many of the trees here are beech, and I wanted the reds and browns to sing out against the snow. I really like this little one, and I hope you do to!
