So here I am home and settled again. I've got some good material from my trip away which I'm looking forward to turning into full-blown paintings but first I wanted to finish off this one: 'Over the Sea to Skye', watercolour, 10.5 x 7". It was started on location but then those threatening clouds did what they'd threatened to do and rained, so I put the painting away. It's been fun finishing it off! The view is from the Applecross Peninsula on Scotland's west coast, looking over the water to the Isle of Skye. The sun illuminates the distant beach and reflects strongly in the clear water of the little river as it meanders its way to the sea.
